George C. McNamara has held numerous technical and managerial positions at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center for the past twenty-eight years. These positions have spanned the entire development cycle, from R&D thru acquisition and support. He has served as a Systems Engineer for the development of the ADCAP Torpedo, Full Scale Development Program Manager for the AN/BSY-2 Combat System, Program Manager for the Low-Cost Wide Aperture Array Program, as well as Program Manager for the Advanced Virginia Sail. He joined the Science & Technology Directorate in 2002 with the specific goal of identifying emerging technologies relevant to the Undersea Enterprise. In 2005 he became the Director of Science & Technology, a position held thru 2006. He is currently the Chief Development Officer responsible for new S&T programs. He holds degrees in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University, and National Security Management from the U.S. Naval War College.
